I had worked in a call centre from leaving school and progressed to management level. I juggled this job to support my young family committing to unsociable hours leaving no quality family time. My confidence and self-esteem during this period of my life was low until I came across nutrition workshops which were delivered by Katherine and Natalie from the Forge Community Partnership. I then progressed on to the Unique Me course.
This was the turning point in my life. The support, passion and guidance of both Katherine and Natalie inspired me to evaluate my own and my family's health and wellbeing, increasing my confidence in making overall changes to how I managed work and family in terms of a more structured routine reducing my anxiety and stress levels.
My aspiration to attend university became real through the support of my partner, my children and most of all Katherine and Natalie who are both brilliant mentors and inspirational people whom I look up to and admire, they helped me to believe that dreams really can come true.
Kerry completed our full programme of 29 weeks and following further study gained her Diploma in Level 3 HE. This year 2018 she has started her first year at University studying BA Honours in Criminal Justice.
